For this version I have adjusted the some of the lighting and colouring to bring out some clips to make them able to see. I have added a 'Black Bar' at the top and the bottom of all the clip. I like this as I thought it looked more professional and cinematic.

This is the edit I have done after the feedback I got from the first version I got. I used a different preset to get a different look, and stylise the footage a bit better.I also worked on the colouring a bit to get the lighting a bit better to bring out some dark areas. 

Update 26/01/17

I haven't posted much recently, as I am working on the editing for the music video. Currently just improving it based on the feedback I have got from the people I have shown it too. I am having a few problems with lighting, trying to get the footage a bit lighter without getting the exposure to high and ruining the footage. I have looked at some videos for colouring. I might post them on my blogger so you can see where I have got my help from. I will recording the narrative part for the music video soon, I will filming it at the school, so it suits in with the 'Across the front of the stage' lyric.

A lot of my time has been taking up editing and looking up different tutorials on how to improve the quality of music video to make it look more professional. once I have learnt out how to edit the lighting properly I will be posting an edit with the lighting hopefully fixed.

This post has help me gain feedback on what to change/adjust for my next edit of the music video, I have really done much editing based on lighting and coloring, so I think based on the feedback I have got, I might need to give that a bit of work.

This is the first edit of the music video. i have shown it to the band to see what they thought, and I gave them suggestions on where I can take this to either improve or experiment with. I have just edited the clips so that they flow in the order that I want them to, I might make a few chnages based on audience feedback.

Final Design : EP Cover

This is 'The Meeks - Pieces EP' completed. I can now use this to create my digipak and use this to produce my design for the magazine advert as well. I have changed it a bit since my last EP cover, I just didn't think the white background worked that well so I changed it to have a black background to make it look more powerful and work better as a design.

I can now use this to create my full digipak and use it in my magazine advert, I will be posting these soon, a lot of my time is taken up by doing the music video, but once that is done I can continue this.

Lighting Used In Music Video

For this post I mentioned all of the lighting that i used in my music video, this is an essential as music video of the same genre tend to have an interesting light aspect to it. We all decided in the band that we thought it would look quite interesting to have a semi dark room as it links to a lyric in the chorus "It's a dark room on a starry night. C'mon lets have the lights".

Update 06/01/17

Over the Christmas holiday I haven't released many posts because I have been busy filming the music video and just working on the editing, it has took a lot of my time, to make sure it is to a good enough quality, I might be posting some test footage of some of the edits I have done so far, on the music video, but I don't know when that would be, hopefully soon. Here are some photos I took of recording and some evidence of editing.

This post has helped me get inspiration for what my magazine advert could potentially look like, I tried to looks at adverts in the rock genre, to help me get a certain look for when I create my design.

Photos Of The Band

These are 2 of the same photo, however I put a filter over both of them to see what different look I would get. This is taken from a screenshot of a video from a camera I set up to record our band playing at the waterfront. I just wanted to work out possible compositions of the band, which I could use in my music video, I want our positions on stage to match the order in the shots taken by the band. Cam (Drummer) Will be in a different place, he will probably be on the left or right. I also wanted to experiment o the filters I could use, I think the black and white theme look quite nice, as I think it suits the look, of most bands in the same genre as us.

I will use this in my Digipak on one of the panels as I think it will give a more realistic look. And I think it would look nice with photos including the band, as we are promoting ourselves and we want to show ourselves of as a band. 

Camera I Will Be Using

Canon 700D
I have contacted my cousin, as she is a photographer, if she knows any good cameras I could use for my music video. In the end she offer her camera, which is brilliant, as the photos I've seen her take are brilliant quality and would be great for recording the shots.

I will be using this to film during the christmas break, we have got 3 weeks off. So I should be able to get a good bit of filming, I want to get the filming done as quickly as possible, so it would leave me a lot of time to edit, as that is what I am going to struggle with the most.

I am very happy that my cousin lent me her camera, as I have seen videos she has taken before, and they are really good quality. She's got a break from University, so she is letting me borrow it then, as that would work better for her and me. So I need to get the filming done then, but 3 weeks should be enough to record, we Just need to put a lot of time into it.

Actor For Male Character In Narrative

Harry Colgan

 

This is Harry Colgan. He will be the male character in out narrative part of the music video. I thought he would be good for the role, as he likes our type of music, he dresses like how we want the character to look, and he is a really good actor. Harry will be ideal for the role, he won't have to say anything, he will just have to show emotions.

I have been talking to Harry about this role and he is really up for it, and is really happy to help out. Harry was and obvious choice for me, as he is one of my closest friends and is a really good actor.

Gender Stereotypes
